The September Scavenger Hunt

One of the nice things about my current employment opportunity is that I get Fridays off. After enjoying a nice breakfast with my mentor AN, I grabbed my Canon and headed out to get in some shutter time. My motivation for the day was capturing at least one image from each one of twenty categories that a friend of mine generated for a photography scavenger hunt that is taking place this weekend.

No prizes, just bragging rights and the joy of sending some time freezing a moment forever. My submissions are posted in the "Twenty Photos" album to the right. Enjoy...

New Photos Uploaded

I just uploaded some of the photos from my recent trip to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, AZ. While not as riveting as the National Air and Space Musuem in Washington, DC or the Air Force Musuem in Dayton, OH; it is a pretty darn good job for a group that gets exactly zero tax payer support. If you are ever in the Tucson area, it is worth the stop.

South Mountain Photo Posted...

In case you haven't noticed, there is a photo album attached to this blog (the link is to the right). I've added a totally candid, roll down the window and grab the shot, picture. BH, her daughter SH, and I were up at the South Mountain overlooks so I could show them some of the areas that I had in mind for her upcoming Senior picture shoot. As we left the Gila overlook, I couldn't help but stop in the middle of the road to grab this exposure.

I probably would have gotten better foreground definition if I switched over to ISO 1600 (instead of the ISO 100 I inadvertently used).  Sometimes though, it is those quick, over the shoulder, point the camera and pray you get the shot; photos that keep you coming back for more...
