Note to Fresh & Easy...I Want My Pepperoni!

FresheasyAt the beginning of last month I shared with you that I had succumbed to the latest British invasion by discovering the wonderful Fresh & Easy that is close to both my office and my house. Since then, I've managed to convert most of the office employees here to "fresh-heads" and several of us have started to shop there as well. It couldn't have come at a better time and I've developed a habit of rolling through there a couple times a week to provision my office (which prevents a trip to a "burger doodle" joint for crappy lunch food that I shouldn't be eating anyway). Not only do I grab some stuff for lunch (such as the Italian chop salad, chicken enchiladas, fruit salad and a couple of bottles of Fuji water that currently reside in the breakroom fridge) but I have fallen in love with their snack boxes (string cheese, dried fruit, cheese-it and a juice), which help me to remember to actually consume something besides coffee in the morning (yes, Mom...I am actually eating something for breakfast). I'm eating healthier and I'm feeling better (bonus and bonus).

I'd like to be able to tell you that I was doing all my personal grocery shopping, but I can't. In a cruel twist of fate I actually had to go into a Safeway to get, of all things, pepperoni. You see the wonderful folks at Fresh & Easy carry this absolutely amazing pizza dough (in white and wheat) that is so easy to use that I'll never buy another frozen pizza again. They sell just about anything that you'd want to put on top of it to...except that is pepperoni. I can't bring myself to consistently consume pizza without pepperoni on top so, just in case some member of F&E management actually reads this silly blog, here is my note to Fresh & Easy...for the love of all things good and holy, please start stocking pepperoni.

Because I'm really sick of going to Safeway...

Dear Pepperoni-less customer. I have received your blog direct to my desk and heard your plea. I too don't want you to have to shop at Safeway anymore, so know that we are developing a pepperoni free from nitrates and nitrites that will be introduced in f&e as soon as. In the meantime I would like to suggest you try the f&e Calabrese Salami. it has a similar spice blend to pepperoni and sliced thin goes great with either pizza dough or by itself.

Keep sending us the feedback - we are listening!

All Hail Fresh and Easy. See they did come through. I love this place. Thanks for getting me hooked. You should try their mini-baguette and mocha sandwich cookies. Yummy!

Rose,

It is refreshing to find a company that is as customer service driven as this one is. The fact that you are treated just as well, in a totally different store no less, shows that this is a corporate "culture" and not just a fluke. The fact that someone from F&E takes the time and trouble to post a comment on this corner of cyberspace, also tells me that they take their reputation seriously and are willing to back it up with action.

If the folks at F&E keep up this kind of attention to what really matters, they are going to wind up with long-term customers...
